Description
Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1963, this was the last year that Les Paul's signature appeared on a vintage Les Paul Junior headstock. This is a "SG" body Les Paul Jr that has had some alterations over the past 54 years and is priced as a player. Look at the pictures. This vintage P90 pickup has bark and bite, with a full round neck, lots of mojo. A previous owner routed the pickup cavity for a humbucker - but the original 1963 P90 pickup and cover are back in place and the guitar sounds and plays great. The pickguard was curled and disintegrating at every screw hole, so a new guard was professionally fashioned by luthier Nate Clark - look at the photos that show his quality work. The original wrapover-bridge/tailpiece did not enable intonation, and was replaced by a wrap-over tune-o-matic. Lastly, new frets replaced the worn originals - this guitar is beautifully set-up and plays easily. Comes with non-original hard case that fits perfectly - see pic Detailed specs include • Mahogany body with original Cherry Finish. Mahogany neck, Thick, round profile,. Nut width 42.0 mm. • 22 fret Brazilian rosewood board with dot inlays. • Vintage original P90 pickup w/black cover. Pickup cavity routed for a Humbucker at one time. Original pickup back in • 24.75" scale , nickel hardware , original Kluson tuners with plastic buttons, metal-topped • Les Paul junior in gold on the peghead
