Travis SJ Adirondack and Honduran Mahogany The Southerner Jumbo was made famous by country music icon Hank Williams Sr. Early models of these short scale, round-shouldered dreadnoughts are sought after and in recent years have become extremely popular, and their value has soared. The Small Jumbo fills the gap between the OMs and the dreadnoughts - proving to be one of the most versatile body sizes offered. Over the years Travis Guitars in Ardmore Oklahoma has built phenominal SJ-style guitars. Delicately handcrafted from the inside out, individually selected and tap-tuned soundboards, with a luthier-grade build ensures optimal transfer of vibration and improve tonal response. This Travis SJ features an Adirondack Spruce top paired with Honduran Mahogany back and sides . The Adirondack Spruce top makes for an guitar that handles flatpicking very well, boasting virtually unlimited headroom and power. It is extremely comfortable to hold and play, making it nearly impossible to put down. Tonally, Adirondack is even more dynamic than Sitka spruce, with a higher ceiling for volume. The payoff is the ability to drive an Adirondack top hard and hear it get louder and louder without losing clarity; it’s hard to overplay it. It has lots of headroom to strum the guitar aggressively without distorting. It also has a high Overtone content. For strumming and flatpicking you can't beat Red Spruce. The Honduran Mahogany is light in weight, stable, and gives a tone of warmth to a guitar. This classic combonation of Adirondack Spruce with Mahogany produces a full, rich tonal palette. This SJ  is appointed with a 1 3/4" nut width which gives you plenty of room for complex chord shapes. Additional appointments include the Tusq nut and saddle, Ebony fretboard, Tortoise pickguard, Wood body binding and grover turners. This Travis SJ features an AER AK15 pickup with the original Sunrise pickup in the case. The AK 15 is a twin source endpin acoustic instrument preamp for the AER standard piezo under saddle pickup. Focussed on maximum dynamic range, tonal balance and clarity AK15 plus is the start of a line of pickups and preamps that perfectly match AER's philosophy and tonal demands. This instrument is in Excellent Condition with some light scuffs on the top, back, and sides. There are also some light pick scratches on the pickguard. Includes Hardshell Case.Features :
