Each instrument goes through a multi-point inspection, followed by a set-up process by our in-house tech staff. We then photograph each instrument with high-quality equipment in our on-site photography studio. We know that details like wood grain and color finishes can vary, so we want you to be able to see, to the best of our ability, exactly what you will be receiving. This process takes over an hour for each instrument - from inspection to pictures. We care about the instrument we put into your hands! Rest assured your guitar was not just plucked off of a shelf and drop-shipped to you from a warehouse without the care that it, and you, deserve.   This 1967-1968 Vox V272 Sidewinder IV bass is quite a find! It is all original, with all electronics tested and fully functional, and comes with the original case. The pick guard has experienced some deterioration, and there are some finish cracks, but otherwise this bass is in very good condition, especially considering its age. This semi-hollow body is crafted from Maple, with a bolt-on 30" scale Maple neck, and 12" radius RW fretboard. The pickups are Vox Ferro-Sonic and all electronic circuits work. The design of the V272 Sidewinder IV bass was doubtlessly influenced by the growing popularity of the Gibson EB-2 bass in the late 1960s. By including a series of battery powered onboard special effects in their "EB-2 style" model, Vox hoped to lure customers away from a Gibson. Description from the 1968 US Vox catalog:  "A brilliant all new 4-string double cutaway electric acoustic bass guitar. Has built in G tuner, distortion booster, treble and bass booster. All new easy-to-fret fast-neck with the Vox double T-bar and adjustable steel rod. Two exclusive VOX Ferro-Sonic pickups. Fully adjustable bridge. One volume, two tone controls, 3-position pickup selector switch. Jumbo chrome plated machine heads. Sunburst or Cherry." The Sidewinder IV was produced for Vox in Italy by EKO in Recanati Italy. This guitar is required to be listed as seller refurbished by the manufacturer. It has been completely checked over by The Music Farm team, and also by the largest manufacturer refurbishing center in America. Buying one of these guitars is almost like buying a brand new guitar, but getting a huge savings on it! Most of these instruments do not have any visible defects. If there is a visible defect it will be indicated in pictures and in the description. These guitars do not carry the original manufacturer warranty, and in order to prevent invalid warranty claims they are lightly stamped “USED” or “2nd” on the back of the headstock, and the original serial number has been replaced with a new serial number from the refurbishing center.
