This hunting horn uses a larger mouthpiece than normal French horn. The mouthpiece receiver is large enough to accept a trumpet mouthpiece (however, a trumpet mouthpiece doesn't sound very good). Also, I have an adapter to allow it to use a normal horn mouthpiece.The mouthpiece is raw brass and has a brass chain attached to it. The mouthpiece is also in great shape and has no markings on it.
