Extremely rare 2008 America-made William C. Schultz Commemorative Stratocaster created by Fender of Corona, California to honor the passing of company president and savior Bill Schultz, who purchased the iconic but struggling company from CBS in 1985 and rebuilt it from the ground up by restoring its legendary status among musicians and music enthusiasts alike, and returning Fender to the undisputed world leader in instruments.This is one of only 5 such models produced, a modern rarity awarded to the top four players in a 2008 golf event named in honor of Schultz, with the fifth presented to the mayor of Corona at the tournament. It's remained unplayed and stored in the mayor's garage ever since. It's beautiful - a top-of-the-line U.S. strat featuring rare Inca Silver paint and unique graphics - all handcrafted in the Corona Fender Custom Shop. As delivered by Fender, with factory plastic still covering the pick-guard (those are not scratches on the guard), and all original paperwork and user-guide. Also original whammy bar, unattached. Only issue is typical light Strat finish crack in each pocket (as depicted). These are superficial and do not impact body or wood whatsoever, and are certainly not a factor sonically. Will be securely packed and shipped in original cushioned Fender gig bag.One of the other 5 Schultz commemoratives sold here on eBay two years ago for $3900.
