The Wunder Audio PAFour Plus is a four channel, 19” rackmount preamplifier version of their PEQ2. Inspired by the 1073, the amplifiers deliver all the warmth and size you would expect from a fully Class-A discrete 1970's-style mic-pre, with their own subtle sonic signature. Based on the popular PEQ1 model, these new preamps have some added upgrades, including upgraded "NICO" transformers (Nickel/Iron/Colbalt), a totally redesigned enclosure with thicker gauge metal for superior shielding and better RF protection, and improved gain switches with over 3 x the gold contact area per switch position. Each preamp also includes a new output stage added to the tail end, just before output transformer, for greater maximum gain. Due to the added gain stages, this model has much more headroom than a 1073, which would typical distort sooner on certain sound sources.
