Price Just Lowered! To professional flute players the name Haynes needs no introduction. Arguably makers of the finest handmade flutes in the world!Offered is a beautiful Wm S Haynes Commercial Model flute with an interesting provenance. Previously owned and played by the great flute master Marcel Moyse when he was living in Vermont. Moyse presented his beloved Haynes flute to his long time student and protege shortly before his passing in 1984. His student is now about to retire and is parting with all of his extra instruments including this beautiful flute.
This is a solid sterling silver flute, handmade in the Piedmont Street workshop c.1960. Serial number 29XXX. This flute is made with drawn tone holes, an offset G and a C foot. Standard cut embouchure for the richest most velvety tone imaginable. A tone like liquid gold! Gold springs give the action a light springy response. This fine flute is mechanically in excellent condition with only some minor wear to the mechanism and key touch areas. Minor scuffs and scratches and a tiny ding mark under the G# key are the only cosmetic imperfections. The pads, despite being the single skin white pads not generally used nowadays, are in such mint condition it doesn't make sense to replace them. This instrument was just cleaned, oiled and adjusted and is in absolutely perfect playing condition.

A flute of this quality and provenance is truly a find! Plays so beautifully and effotlessly. The heaving tubing, .018" and standard embouchure give a real depth and personality to the tone. Plays easily at A=440 and slightly above.Included is the original French style case, cleaning sick and clothThis is the flute for any serious flutist. Hands down this flute can be used in any professional situation. I truly believe that Marcel Moyse's incredible tone is indelibly imprinted into this instrument. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
