A rare antique german violin made circa 1900, fantastic birdseye maple.Extraordinary antique german violin made circa 1900 after Amati. The top is made of two pieces of spruce and shows regular and straight grain lines. The back is made of two parts of an incredible birdseye maple of the highest beauty. The ribs, neck and head are of the same wood. The varnish is of an orange-brown color. A rare and extremely aesthetic instrument!The violin is in a very good condition, with just a tiny piece of wood missing at the lower left f hole.The violin has been revised and set-up, including a rosewood tailpiece with bone fret, a rosewood chinrest, a Despiau bridge and Thomastik Dominant new strings set. On the inside back can be found the label of "Nicolaus Amatus fecit in Cremona 1662".The sound is powerful, warm and brilliant, responsive : a fine concert instrument you will love!Dimensions are the following :LOB : 362 mm.Upper bouts : 172 mm.Middle bouts : 113 mm.Lower bouts : 212 mm.The instrument comes with a new rectangular case.
