This is a genuine 1972 Marshall Major 200 watt amp.  Please note that it is the second variant of the Marshall 200 watter, not the early one that was known as "The Pig".  This is a Model 1978, which means that it is the bass variant (Marshall model numbers should not be confused with years of manufacture, even though they can look similar).  Although this amp could be converted to Lead specifications quite easily, modern guitarists seldom need 200 tube watts.  To modern bassists, though, 200 clean tube watts is a joy few experience.  This amp has done its fair share of work, and has some scuffs and scrapes, and a few extra holes drilled for various things over the years.  However, it electronically in fine shape, having been completely gone through by my tech, and re-tubed.  The amp seems to have acquired a new power transformer at some stage, but otherwise seems original and complete.  It is currently on European/Australian power, but could easily be converted to US power if required.  These don't come up that often, so now is the time to grab this piece of history.  Ships in custom made flight case.  Shipping will be $175 in Australia, or $350 internationally (it is heavy).
