Ibanez AM200 with OHSCCrafted in Japan in 1996The specs below are from an online source. I am not sure that they are correct. For one thing, the neck appears to have a piece of non-mahogany -- possibly maple or poplar -- running up the center. The fretboard is ebony with MOP and abalone markers. This was a top-of-the-line Ibanez guitar. The Ibanez AM line were the first smaller semi-hollow guitars and came out long before the Gibson 336 or 339.

The quality of this guitar is in the league the best of Ibanez, including the AS200 and Scofield models. It comes with the original Ibanez case for it, which is an especially high quality one as Ibanez cases go, and made in Canada.Ibanez collectors -- please do not scold me for modding this guitar. It had some damage and mods when I bought it. In fact, I bought it because of the damage and mods: I did not want to feel bad about doing my own mods. I love and respect these guitars, but also love modding guitars, and I could only mod one that had already had lost its "collect-ability."The damage is the crack around the lower f-hole visible in a couple of the pictures. It looks like the guitar got dropped on the lower bout, denting the side and causing the top finish to crack. I do not feel any crack through the top when I reach a dental instrument into the soundhole. But the wood on the side does have a dent. Everything in that area feels pretty solid, just looks bad.It does have a little finish crack at the neck joint. In my experience, that is pretty normal in these guitars. The joint itself is solid.
The damage is cosmetic only and really not noticeable to audiences. Sound and playability are not affected. There are some minor dents and corrosion and pick scratching, but this is a beautiful guitar, and beautifully appointed.Still, this is set up to be a player's guitar.
In installed a Wolfetone Legend bridge pickup at the bridge and Sheptone neck pickup (from an AB set) at the neck. Both are four wire pickups. I wired them each to have these positions: series (std. humbucking), single coil, and parallel (a humbucking mode that sounds similar to single coil). It already had one hole for one switch in it. I just added another.... :-)I also added Sperzel tuners. I insist on locking tuners on all my guitars. No, the old tuners and pickups are not included. What you see is what you get.
It sounds and plays GREAT!It does have some fret wear down in the cowboy chord areabut is very playable. Ibanez used super jumbo frets on these guitars, I think the equivalent of Warmoth 6100 wire, so the neck almost has a scalloped sort of feel. You can use heavier strings and still get a good purchase on them for bends. It now has new GHS Nickel Rockers (10-46, pure nickel, roller-wound) on it. Wolfetone recommends GHS strings, and that happen to be what I use on my guitars.Unfortuntately, I have more guitars than I can keep right now, especially with a child in college. I have not been using this one. It was not an easy decision, though.I will be listing lots of other music gear, so please check my other auctions. I will happily package items purchased together to save on shipping costs.
