Up for sale, a 2007 Gibson Explorer '76 reissue electric guitar in exceptional condition and in good working order. Near mint and complete with its original hangtag and hardshell case, this Explorer is a fitting tribute to the model as seen upon its reintroduction in 1976 (alongside the Bicentennial Firebird). With its radical, futuristic body shape and punchy, powerful tone via the original Gibson 496R and 500T ceramic humbuckers, this Explorer handles high gain with ease, while also delivering detailed cleans. The guitar weighs in at 8lbs 2oz, with a smooth, natural sustain and rich acoustic resonance that translates well through the humbuckers. This Explorer has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with fresh 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation. The one-piece mahogany neck has a comfortable medium C shaped profile that is more slender at the nut and gains a bit more roundness in the shoulders as you move up the fretboard. With a 1 3/4" wide nut and flawless fretwire, the guitar plays effortlessly with no buzzing or dead spots. On the headstock, the original mini Grover Rotomatic tuning machines turn smoothly with clean gold plating, and the "Gibson" logo is inlaid on the face. All of the electronics work as they should, with individual Volume controls for each pickup and a Master Tone control. The stock hardware is all accounted for, with a Nashville bridge and matching stoptail, three speed knobs, and a three-ply white pickguard. Cosmetically, the guitar is near mint, with a gloss natural nitro lacquer finish that highlights the grain of the mahogany body. There is one thumbnail sized light indentation on the top near the bass side lower bout body point, but that's about it!The original hardshell case and Gibson hangtag is included. Please check out our shop "Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar" on the web, and feel free to call us directly with any questions at 206.399.8518.Shipping in the continental USA will be $70, fully insured and shipped via FedEx Ground.
