ORIGINAL OWNER - Purchased New on August 27, 2004 - Serial Number: 984107Excellent Condition.Recently set-up at Martin - GREAT ACTION and FEEL!I added a black adhesive back pickguard that can be removed without any holes to the body.This guitar looks and sounds amazing, and proves that spruce and rosewood are not the only
materials that can make a good guitar. The guitar has excellent action, and stays in tune. Unplugged, it sounds like a high-quality wooden guitar - no harsh metallic sounds whatsoever. Plugged into an amp it sounds AWESOME! The guitar has a nice slim body. It's not quite as loud as a big dreadnaught but it still has good volume. This does not look like a traditional guitar at all and it lends itself very well to lots of fast flatpicking. If you have been wanting a Martin guitar for years and decide to purchase this one, you will not be disappointed in the least. A bonus of this particular model is that everybody will be staring at your guitar in envy and telling you how awesome/cool/beautiful it is. And they'll be right. HIGHLY recommend this guitar!From what I recall the neck is made up of over 40 pieces of wood laminated together. Making it virtually impossible for the neck to ever warp or twist.The top is made from brushed aluminum with HPL back and sides. This is an excellent lead and rhythm player and the tone is surprisingly Martin. Besides its cool looks where this guitar really shines is with its Fishman Presys Plus preamp system. The Alternative X has great tone acoustically but really stands out when plugged in. I used this guitar at home for practice. It is as close to new as one can get!
