Up for sale, a 2012 Guild D-55 dreadnought acoustic guitar in exceptional, near mint condition and in perfect working order. This top of the line Guild has been upgraded with a K&K Onboard Trinity System (a $500 value), and this active dual source system is one of the most advanced and natural sounding acoustic amplification options on the market today. The D-55 reflects nearly half a century of Guild's master craftsmanship, featuring the kind of tonewoods that give you an unrivaled level of expression and melodic character. This D-55's eye-catching solid AAA spruce top reflects a warm and woody brilliance that speaks volumes about its tonal character. A breathtaking bookmatched Indian rosewood back and matching sides add extra aesthetic finesse as well as mellow overtones, while a 12" radius neck and ebony fretboard make the D-55 a pleasure to play. The tone projects and blooms beautifully, offering clean note separation for fingerpickers and a rich framework for songwriters. The D-55 ships elegantly appointed with a nitrocellulose lacquer Antique Burst finish, abalone/pearl inlays, a tortoiseshell/ABS soundhole rosette, and tortoiseshell body binding & purfling. The one-piece mahogany neck has a medium C shaped profile the borders on the more slender side of things, chording very easily with a 1 3/4" wide hand-carved bone nut and 25 5/8" scale length. The ebony fretboard is adorned with pearl block inlays intersected with abalone Vs, and the vintage-style fretwire is flawless. On the headstock, the open-back Gotoh tuning machines turn very smoothly and the Guild logo and shield are expertly inlaid. The K&K Trinity pickup system features K&K's Pure Pickup, which consists of three transducers mounted to the underside of the bridge to truly capture the resonance and dynamic response of the instrument. This pickup is paired with the Trinity Microphone with integrated 5" gooseneck. This microphone can be ideally placed inside the soundhole and boasts a 20-20.000 Hz frequency range! These two powerful elements are governed by an internal two-channel preamp with individually adjustable gain-bass-middle-treble controls via discreet trim pots, and more accessible volume controls mounted to the edge of the soundhole. This allows the player to perfectly blend the two elements for a tone that is unparalleled in its richness and true representation of this D-55's natural sonic properties.Cosmetically, this guitar is near mint, with few expected scratches in the pick path (almost entirely on the tortoise guard), and a stray light mark or two on the gloss nitro lacquer clear coat on the back. Otherwise, this guitar is truly showroom clean. The original Guild-branded hardshell case is included. Please check out our shop "Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar" on the web, and feel free to call us directly with any questions at 206.399.8518.Shipping in the continental USA will be $75, fully insured and shipped via FedEx Ground.
