Olds Trumpet - Make An Offer!Here’s a 1972 vintage F.E. Olds Special model NL-10 trumpet outfit complete with mouthpiece and Olds hardshell case. This horn has a silver colored finish, which is actually lacquered nickel plating. The nickel plated finish is approx. 95% intact showing scratches and general handwear throughout the horn. There are a few areas around the contact points (where your hands hold the horn) where the finish has worn down to brass. Overall this trumpet holds a nice shine and is presentable. Some other features include an adjustable 3rd slide ring and traditional lever style water keys. This trumpet was designed to be an advanced model trumpet and it was made in the USA by the F.E. Olds company. Serial number is 779XXX indicating that it was manufactured in 1972 when quality was top notch at the Olds plant. This trumpet has excellent smooth valves. Valve plating is intact and all three valves operate quickly and smoothly. The slides are all smooth and have just been lubricated. The valve slides all make a nice "pop" when pulled. Bell is engraved "OLDS SPECIAL F.E. OLDS & SON FULLERTON CALIF." with a nice ribbon pattern. This is a used horn that has been played and enjoyed, so there are little dings / tiny dents throughout the trumpet. Nothing significant, but I wanted to mention them so you know exactly what you are getting. This horn is 100% complete with all of its parts and plays great as you would expect from a 1970s vintage Olds, it's very freeblowing with a rich beautiful tone. This is a medium-large bore horn. The chestnut brown OLDS woodshell plush-lined case is included which is in decent used condition. The case has working latches, a mouthpiece slot, side accessory storage area, and a sturdy handle. There is average wear to the case including a few ripped spots on the exterior and some minor scuffing. This Olds case is in good solid shape and provides excellent protection for the horn.
