I have no idea what this is!  It came to me from my 87 year old mother-in-law.  She bought it at a thrift store in MD in the 1990s.  It plays well and has a chipboard case which looks to be original and in very good condition! Headstock is very unusual shape (butterfly?) as it is not like anything I have seen on any other Goya guitars out there. Tailpiece also has a unique white with a woodgrain overlay on it? This could be a prototype or just very rare. Serial number is 831115 on neck block just a white paper label with 10019 on it? Goya tag is also very simple and has another tag on top that says made in Japan GC-45?!  This could be a rare guitar or a knock off copy...have no idea.  I don't think it is, but I really don't know. I am putting this out as is and willing to negotiate a deal.  I am taking a risk here, but then again so would you be in buying this.  I have no claims that this is an actual Goya-GC-45, but from what I have read and talked with people about is that this was probably made by Martin Co for Goya.  They often used many shops in Japan, which may explain label.  Regardless, I have not seen another one like this.  Serial number starts with an 83 which probably indicates that it was made in 1983.  Craftsmanship is very good! And overall this guitar has almost no flaws that I can see. Good luck!
I have seen very similar style guitars made by Faustian-Conde, but this is not that!  Again, it is difficult to say what this guitar is based on the available information...but it is unique and may have value!Goya stopped making guitars after 1973(?), but Martin Co. took over and made these for Goya in various factories. This one was apparently made in Japan. It is unlike anything I have seen which, by definition makes it rare and unique.I have received a comment about one photo from inside the sound hole that looks like cross brace is missing. I retook the photo from a slightly different angle which shows this brace is not missing. I have done no work to this guitar and as far as I can tell there has not been anything done to it. My mother in law has been the owner since 90s and has not done anything except new strings. There is a Goya expert out there who keeps sending me messages that this is Not a Goya guitar because they were only made in the 1970s etc. Also, has asked about a missing brace...not missing. They angle of the picture may have made it appear to be. I reposted a view from a slightly different angle. I AM NOT TRYING TO SCAM ANYONE HERE!!! Please, if you are interested in this piece I will state it again, the guitar history is all that I know. Probably made by a shop in Japan in the 1983. Construction is very nice and plays really well. I have friends who are collectors too. (Not me! I can't afford to be😜)My guitar friends have said, "1980s were a great year (I tend to agree) for guitars from Japan. This is not a piece of crap! It also is unique! I have not seen another one out there. This, combined with being a decent guitar makes it have value! What someone will pay for it is up to the market!I am not in a hurry to sell and will need to make 100% certain anyone interested knows what they are buying before I sell. Again...I am not trying to SCAM anyone!! Please let me know if you are interested and I can send many more pictures than EBAY lets me post!
