2006 HUBER VINTAGE SERIES - VRB 3WNEAR MINT CONDITION!!I am offering for sale my Huber Vintage Series banjo that includes its TKL black vinyl arch-top 6 latch case. The pictures attempt to show the Steve Huber craftsmanship; however, you really need to see one in person and hear the sound to appreciate a Huber banjo! This banjo is near mint condition only due to an approximate 1/4" fingernail indentation in the resonator and some wear to the armrest. Otherwise, it's mint. This banjo, crafted in May, 2006 (#55 for the year) included several options:
Antique metal finish ($225)
Vintage Lacquer finish ($125)
Speed neck ($95)
For those of you who have owned and/or followed Huber banjos, you are probably familiar with this series and the Gibson Banjo potential lawsuit issues. I located an article from Bluegrass Blog writer John Lawless, who stated in part, "Five models exist in the Huber Vintage Series, each designed as a replica of one of the pre war classics. These are professional quality instruments, and are priced accordingly between $4200-$5000. That may look steep, until you consider that the original, five string flatheads on which these are styled can go for between $50,000-$100,000, if you can find one!" John's article was dated 061406. If you take a few minutes and go to earnestbanjo.com, view the style 3 banjos. Scroll to #9528-7 and you will be amazed how this Huber compares to that banjo, including the headstock "Huber". Take time to also visit Huber Banjos.
