Up for sale, a 2009 Fender Lee Ranaldo Jazzmaster in exceptional condition, complete with the original hardshell case, hangtags, and case candy. This now discontinued signature model USA-made Jazzmaster was produced in the introductory year that this guitar was offered, and the features and visual appeal of this model are like no Jazzmaster made by Fender before or since. The pair of Wide Range humbuckers have been revoiced to vintage spec specifically for this model, and the result is a tone that has much more clarity, definition, and sweetness than other Fender reissues to bear these pickups. Combined with the added top end articulation inherent to the black anodized aluminum pickguard, this Jazzmaster is a no-nonsense tone machine. The Ranaldo weighs in at 8lbs 6oz. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar and dialed in with 10-46 strings, the guitar boasts solid intonation and low action. The maple neck has a quintessential medium C shaped profile with a generous slab rosewood fretboard and vintage-style fretwire that is virtually flawless. The neck conforms to vintage Fender specifications, with a 7 1/4" fretboard radius, traditional 25 1/2" scale length, and 1 5/8" nut width. The satin black headstock face sports a "spaghetti" Pre-CBS style Jazzmaster logo along with Lee's signature on the reverse side. The simple electronics work as they should, and per Lee Ranaldo's specifications, the guitar has a single Volume control and three-way pickup selector switch. The chrome shines like new, the vibrato responds smoothly, and even the original "ashtray" bridge cover is included over the Mustang saddles. The satin nitro lacquer Sapphire Bue Transparent finish highlights the prominent grain of the alder body, and the instrument shows only a few small indentations and faint finish scratches, mostly relegated to the back of the guitar.
This rare, Artist Series Fender Jazzmaster is a clean and discontinued example, and a fitting tribute to one of the players that has cemented the model's legacy as a versatile tool.
The original hardshell case, case candy, and hangtags are included.
