These are always fun sets to run into, a great look into the mail-order guitar business and department store finds of the past! A Silvertone 1457 Guitar and Amp-in-Case Set! This is a duo from the 1960’s, where you would usually find these at Sears Roebuck stores and catalogs. We don't believe the guitar and amp originally came together. The 1457 amp usually came with a two-pickup guitar in a red burst finish. The guitar included here is black with a single pickup. This 1457 has built in tremolo for a great vintage Rock and Roll tone. The amp even has the original Silvertone tubes installed, operating, and sounding great. The guitar is a fun player built with Masonite and a plywood core with a maple neck and rosewood fretboard. The set is in very good condition with surface marks throughout both pieces, and all functions of the amp working. The set includes a vintage guitar cable, as well as the original footswitch to activate the tremolo. The guitar is missing the volume knob.Questions? We're here to help!
