Beautiful 1986, 8X14 Yamaha Recording Custom Snare Drum in Piano Black. Model No. SD 980 RP. Serial No. MM-2043. Deep 8" shell.The drum is completely original with the exception of the heads. The bottom head is a nearly new Evans Hazy 300 and I just put a new Evans G14 on the batter side. The drum is nearly flawless. I can not find a mark on the shell or any pitting on the chrome. The only flaws are marks on the top hoop where a Yamaha external muffler had been clamped on. There are marks in more than on place, but they are only visible close up. On the bottom hoop there is a small scuff on the corner on one of the drop gates.
