The fine item you are considering is a Vintage 1979 Fender Twin Reverb Tube Guitar Amplifier Amp Needs Work. Please scroll down below this text to see additional photos. This well made vintage amp, which looks to date to 1979 based on the chassis number and speaker codes (speakers say '78) from Fender just came out of a storage unit, so it’s still a bit on the dusty side, but it looks to be in nice overall condition, showing some typical light surface oxidation in areas and normal mojo for an amp of this age. When I received the amp, it was missing the four 6L6 power tubes, so I placed four of my tubes in the amp to test it, and as soon as I powered it up, the red jewel light lit, and I promptly saw smoke coming out of the external speaker jack opening. I immediately shut the amp off, and since I’m not a tube tech, that’s as far as I’m going to be able to test it. I removed my four power tubes, so you’ll need new power tubes, but I’m leaving all the other original tubes in the amp. Typically, vintage tube amps aren’t that difficult to work on if you know what you’re doing, so if you’re a tube tech, or you know a good one, this may be your change to pick up a bargain. The amp has the original speakers, and the fold back legs, and everything else looks to be original. Please see my photos to have a look at this nice item.
