Description

This guitar is fully gig ready. Most vintage Gretsch's all need work and most are clunkers that have neck issues - not too mention binding rot. Any issues have been addressed with this guitar and it's ready to play! The good news is that the electronics are all intact as well at the fantastic sounding Filtertron's. Sometime in the past, somebody (did a great job) replacing the body binding. This is a huge undertaking and is very costly to repair. There is no binding rot whatsoever on this Gretsch. Full pro refret and setup with 10-46 gauge strings done by my tech a few years back. Straight neck, and low action with no buzzing and spot on intonation. My tech did pin the bridge so I can bend away during gigs without worrying that the bridge will shift. For full disclosure, here are the issues with the guitar:The back plastic plate that is used to access the control cavity needs to be replaced. It's shrunk considerably over time and is held together by tape. However, you cannot see this - the back pad is covering this up.The pickguard has been cracked and repairedThe mute assembly is fully intact, but practically useless. It seems to engage, but not disengage. Most people just ditch this all together - it's known to be problematic. I've kept it on more for cosmetics.A few bits were swapped. The tuners look like older reissue Grover Imperial replacements. I'm not entirely sure if the bridge is original, but it's definitely a Gretsch issued one with the correct radius. The OHSC is included and in great shape, save for the handle which has been replaced.
