Straight from our brass (and silver) instrument repair shop, our USED horns are brought back to life...All major dents are removed, joints re-soldered (if needed), patches repaired (if necessary) and the slides reworked. Our horns may be buffed, but all are hand polished to a good shine and are in good playable condition. For the collector who is looking for an instrument; we try to keep the original parts whenever possible; if the playability is good, we feel it should be left to the buyer's discretion to replace parts as desired. We have tried to describe it as it is, and are happy to answer any questions asked. #117/2016Up for sale is a late 1970's King Tenor trombone with F Attachment--engraved is 'King 5B Symphony, King Musical Instruments USA'. The serial is #733xxx and the slide is stamped with #85xx. This instrument has great intonation and a lot of power. It has been described as a 'Bass', but essentially, it is equivalent to a big bore Tenor trombone with a rich tone; easily at home in a Jazz or Concert Band. It takes a large shank mouthpiece.This trombone has good compression, and the slide action is very good. It is made from yellow brass and solid nickel silver. There are various small dings and 'pings'; with a 'pea' sized on the small "F" attachment slide. There is some minor scratching and minor pitting at the grips. The slide stockings show very minimal wear. This instrument is not lacquered; therefore, this instrument may have to be polished periodically (we recommend using Weiman METAL Polish). This trombone comes with a large shank mouthpiece and a nice King original case. The slide bore is .547/.547 and the bell is 9"...it is beautiful playing Symphonic big bore horn.
