DW Drum Workshop Cast Bronze 14" x 5" Snare Drum = RARE FIND!made in the USA. This is a 3mm CAST Shell, the shell is not rolled. This is the ORIGINAL Cast Bronze DW, not the newer model that actually has a seam. A rep from DW confirmed that its in fact a Collector's Series Bronze snare. Some people consider this to be a Bell Brass Snare, some people consider this not to be a Bell Brass Snare. I would consider it to be bell brass. The 2.3mm brass-plated hoops allow the 3mm shell to breathe and make this snare looks amazing. looks like a golden snare!!! It reminds me of the Jeff Ocheltree Paiste 2002 snare drum. The brass-plated hardware is all original. The tension rods are overall in really good shape. There is a little tarnish on one or two of them but barely noticeable. Unbelievable PROJECTION---AND DARK TONE TOO!! This beast is a monster!!! You might want to keep this for just yourself and lock it away forever! Its like treasure!Details:--weighs 18 pounds.--has NO re-enforcement hoops--famous DW 10 Turret Lug design,--super smooth DW engraved Drop Clutch throwoff works perfectly--DW true tone snare wires.--Birthdate: April 27, 1998Used but excellent condition. There are two spots of tarnish on the resonant side of the snare drum. They aren't very big and they are completely covered by the drum head when it is installed. You would not notice these spots unless you took off the bottom drum head. This tends to happen naturally with metal snares when they are exposed to O2 for years and years. Not a very big deal but worth mentioning. Other than that, this snare is really nice. Slight signs of use on the top hoop but nothing drastic. Just a excellent used snare. Keep in mind that this snare is 18 years old when buying and "vintage" condition applies.
The interior of the shell is FLAWLESS! Wow! Beautiful to look at!I just bought brand new Evans level 360 batter and resonant head and installed them.
