Up for auction is a Fox Renard Model 222 Wood bassoon in wonderful condition with a original Case. It is in the 22,000 serial number range, produced in the year 1995. It plays extremely well. This high quality Wooden bassoon is made in the USA by Fox, one of the premier bassoon makers in the world. The instrument includes standard keywork and is suitable for the high level intermediate to advanced player. We have just finished overhauling this bassoon, and it now plays cleanly and evenly up and down. This is a great high end pre-professional bassoon. The Tenon wrappings in good condition. A Bocal is included with this instrument as well as a Fox hard case.  The case is very functional, and has quite a bit of wear on the exterior.   Cosmetically, this instrument is in great condition, and really shines, but there are some imperfections and indications of prior use on the finish on the wood. There are small dings, scratches, and chips in the lacquer that are highlighted in the photos below, especially on the wing joint, as is typical. The silver plated keywork really shines. That said, the photos speak for themselves. This instrument plays great, and looks great. The case is original and in nice shape overall, though the outside definitely has a few wear spots. Also included is a silk swab, seat strap, hand crutch, and reed.
