1942 CG Conn Connqueror 30M Tenor Saxophone Vintage CG Conn Connqueror 30M Tenor SaxophoneThis is a Vintage, 1942 CG Conn Connqueror 30M Tenor Saxophone. This is by far the rarest tenor saxophone made by CG Conn in the late 1930's and early 1940's. They were only made for a few years and are one of the most uniquely designed saxophones ever made. This one in particular is going to need an overhaul as some point soon in order to be used on a regular basis, but plays surprisingly well as is. Of all the people who test played it, it played pretty well throughout the range of the instrument. It has a HUGE sound and was pretty comfortable to play. The sax looks very good overall, no major damage or repairs noticed. We've taken a ton of pictures of the sax from as many angles as possible so you can see the condition. This one comes with a later era Conn Case which is in very good condition. The neck is in great shape and has not suffered any pull downs. This sax does not have the original end plug. The finish looks great throughout the saxophone. We believed this was the original finish when we acquired it, the color looks right from the era of this saxophone, but the engraving does not look as detailed as most of the 30M saxophones we have seen online, so we have to believe it may have been refinished at some point. The keywork is not loose and the engraving is still fairly detailed, so it just raised the question to us. We would rather say it may not be original than claim for it to be 100% original. The pads look OK, some are going to need to be changed, the new owner should probably opt for an overhaul. If you do not have someone that can overhaul it we can check with our tech as well to see when he can fit it in. Will need corks, felts, etc. This was a one owner saxophone and was pretty well maintained by it's only owner, but it has not been played regularly in over 30 years.Sold as is. Please feel free to contact us with any questions.
