The GIBSON J-185 Jumbo was first introduced by Gibson in 1951 and originally discontinued in 1958.Only Limited Edition runs have been produced since that time.This is a very popular sized 16 inch wide jumbo in the same shape as the inch larger J-200.This J-185 is built in a beautiful curly maple back and sides.The top is spruce with the traditional J-185 "X-bracing", Tortoise shell pickguard, Hand sprayed in Nitrocellulose Lacquer in a Vintage Sunburst.The neck is mahogany, Scale Length: 24 3/4 inchesFret markers are Mother of Pearl parallelograms,Nut Width: 1.725 inches, just a hair wider that 1 11/16 inches.Neck Radius: 12 inches.Neck and Bridge Saddle material is aged bone.Bridge material is rosewood, as with the Fingerboard.This J-185 has the built-in pickup with end pin jack strap button.There are no controls for the pickup. Rely on your amp for that and picking intensity.Simplicity being the desired feature, without any unnecessary knobs or holes in this solid curly maple body.A great benefit for live performances.SN: 00393045,Built in 2003.Original Gibson Hard Shell case included.For those who admire the J-200, but prefer a standard 16 inch body.Fabulous tone, for which the J-185 is unbeaten...
