Up for sale is this exceptionally cool 2009 Gibson Flying V "Tribal." Number 124 of a limited run of only 350, this guitar mixes in some extremely unique looks with the classic sounds of the famous Flying V. Cosmetically, the guitar is in excellent condition with only very minor wear to the body. We only noteworthy blemish is some incidental marks on the headstock where it had at one time hung gently on a guitar hanger. It also looks like it still has the protective plastic over the back plate. There is virtually no fret wear. This guitar has barely been played! I'm not sure if this guitar originally had a tremolo bar or not, but it does not include one. For further details, see the promotional write up from Gibson pasted below. No COA was with the guitar when I acquired it. The guitar will very carefully packed and ship in an aftermarket gig bag.Shipping is $59.99 to the domestic USA. International shipping will be through the eBay global shipping program. I cannot ship to PO boxes. From Gibson: Tribal VA certain aura of mystique has always surrounded the legendary Gibson Flying V. Ever since its introduction in 1958, the Flying V has remained the ultimate symbol of rock and roll rebellion. And although it wasn’t fully embraced until the hard rock and heavy metal movements of the late ’60s and early ’70s, the guitar’s intense magnetic appeal, powerful sound and unusually familiar shape have made it one of the most instantly recognizable guitars in the world. That tradition lives on in the new Tribal V – Gibson USA’s latest addition to its Limited Run Series line of guitars. The Tribal V takes the classic Flying V format to the next level, delivering an instrument honed for the contemporary player with all the time-honored features of the original. Clearly the most identifiable part of the Tribal V is its V-shaped body. On the new Tribal V, however, the body is also set in a Satin White finish with a distinct Tribal art pattern design to accent the guitar’s electronics and traditional lines, making it one of the most eye-catching Vs Gibson USA has ever produced. The Tribal art pattern design also appears on the guitar’s headstock, which remains true to the unique, pointed headstock found on the original Flying V. The neck is also the traditional Flying V neck, which is a hybrid between the standard ’50s rounded contour and the ’60s slim-taper profile. Each Tribal V comes equipped with the industry’s ultimate tremolo system – the Kahler 2215K from Kahler USA. This black chrome stud mount tremolo system features individual fine tuners, a brass cam and stainless steel saddles that deliver enhanced sustain and harmonics and a warm, rich overall tone. Add the muscle of uncovered Gibson 496R and 500T humbucker pickups and you end up with one scorching and timeless rock and roll classic. The new Tribal V Limited Run Series from Gibson USA is restricted to just 350 guitars, and all of them come with a black Gibson hardshell case with white interior and silkscreened Gibson USA logo and a special certificate of authenticity.Eviscerating LooksThe original Flying V is a tough act to follow, looks wise, but the Tribal Explorer heaps on a bucketload of added edge and attitude. Its solid body and neck are dressed in a custom white finish and decorated on its body and headstock with this Limited Run model’s exclusive black Tribal Pattern design. Its unbound fingerboard with acrylic dot position markers provide an austere contrast on this unique but businesslike rock tool, while black chrome hardware and white pickup mounting rings complete the package.Land Speed RecordThe Tribal V updates the original V’s iconic lines with a sizzling new power train designed to offer the muscle and versatility demanded by the 21st century rocker. A pair of Gibson’s own uncovered ceramic-magnet humbucking pickups—a 496R in the neck and a 500T in the bridge—maximize output and sustain while retaining clarity and string definition. Through a clean channel, they offer thumping lows and sweet highs; injected into a high-gain amp, however, they really come into their own, yielding eviscerating midrange and sizzling lead tones, with nearly endless sustain when desired.Diving and DancingThe Tribal Explorer adds an extra dimension to the rock action with a factory mounted Kahler Tremolo system. The ultimate tailpiece for anything from deep divebombing to subtle vibrato effects, the Kahler is partnered by a Corian nut and locking Grover kidney tuners to get it all right back to pitch, however extreme your action. The entire package is rendered with Gibson’s legendary playability, with 22 jumbo frets, and a 24-3/4" scale length.Too Hot to HandleWhether you’re a player seeking a professional rock instrument that’s totally uncompromised in both looks and performance, or a collector in search of that ultimate trophy piece, the Tribal Flying V is an axe worth grinding. The Limited Run from Gibson USA was restricted to 350 guitars, so don't let this one get away.Full specifications include:Made In: Nashville, TN USAFinish: White with black Tribal PatternNut: CorianNeck Joint: Set; Glued-inScale Length: 24-3/4"Fingerboard Radius: 12"Frets: 22 Tuners: Grover, lockingHardware: Black ChromePickups: 496R neck, 500T bridgeControls: Two Volume control, one Tone control, three-way switchBridge: Kahler Vibrato system
