Fender "The STRAT" 1980 Aged Yellow With Kahler
Estimated price for orientation: 1 125 $
Category: Other Vintage Guitars
Class:
Description Brand: Fender Exact Year: 1980
This Fender STRAT from 1980 is nothing short of unique. It was one of the last models built at the original Carona California plant. This is a true players guitar with decades of wear. The guitar was originally white but has aged to a golden yellow thanks to it being played in smokey clubs and bars for decades. A little history about "The STRAT"...simply named The STRAT, was an upgrade to the normal trim, and cost $250 more than the American standard models of the day. The STRAT featured a return to the pre CBS appointments with a four bolt neck joint, 60s style headstock, non-bullett style truss adjustment, gold hardware, and upgraded electronics. This particular STRAT has a fully functioning Kahler bridge with a locking nut , an early Seymour Duncan hotrails humbucker in the bridge, and two very clean and crystal clear sounding neck and middle single coils. I believe the single coils are Fender brand but I am not 100% sure. The guitar was recently re-fretted with jumbo fret wire and a bone nut at Eastside Music Supply in Nashville Tennessee by luthier Derek Ness. The action is set to medium-low and the instrument plays and feels amazing. The guitar is capable of delivering heavy to traditional tones thanks to the hot rail and the single coils. I compared this guitar to my 2014 American Strat plus deluxe and its as if I took a blanket off my tone. That's how clear this guitar sounds. The guitar will ship in a newer Fender American case, the same one you would get if you purchased a brand new American Fender strat or tele. If you have any questions about this guitar, don't hesitate to ask. Thanks for looking!
