Fender designed it to represent the peak of their production line instruments and fittingly installed on it every deluxe feature available, while still remaining true to the time honoured traditional sound of the original Strats. The Deluxe model was replaced in mid 2016 with the quite similar Stratocaster Elite model.This beautiful Candy Apple Red Fender Deluxe Strat. was crafted in 2004 and as such carries the specially etched 50th Anniversary contoured neck plate on the new comfort-designed relieved neck heal and all the new upgrades. The body colour is complemented by the gold pick guard and aged white knobs and pick-up covers. Gold is considered the 50th Anniversary colour and this single-ply, beveled, vinyl pick guard is reminiscent of the anodised metal guards of the early Strats.The pick guard carries the three samarium cobalt noiseless pick-ups which were each specially designed to eliminate the hum that electric guitars produce at high volume while still maintaining the characteristic Strat. sound. The middle pick-up is reverse polarity, reverse wound to further combat hum.The new S1 switching (through the cleverly concealed push button on the volume control knob) gives a total of nine different pick-up tonal combinations. The bridge pup tone control has a 'no load' feature which ensures that the full clarity of the bridge pick-up rings straight through to the amp.Behind the gold pick guard sits the up-graded two-point, low friction, synchronised, tremolo system with it's adjustable, solid stainless steel block saddles, steel block and pop-in tremolo arm. (The supplied whammy bar did not have the plastic tip which I fitted because this is what I'm used to.)The smooth, ultra-playable neck's specifications are, one piece maple with rolled edges, vintage tinted satin polyurethane, 22 medium jumbo frets with Abalone markers, 9 1/2" radius, C shape, skunk stripe and Schaller designed staggered, locking, tuners. The neck also has the bi-flex truss rod and micro tilt adjustment. The serial number DZ4...... denotes Deluxe 2004 and the all important Made in USA is on the rear of the headstock.The original Fender hard case is in excellent condition with only a few external scratch marks. The Fender Owner's Manual, hangtags, special Allen keys etc. are included. Sadly, no key for the case lock.The guitar is in excellent but not pristine condition. There are no chips, dents or knocks in the paint; no scratches to the front or neck, however, annoyingly, there is a small amount of cosmetic buckle rash on the back near the top horn. Also, because the guitar is 13 years old and has been played there is a very small amount of fret wear. Most of the original plastic protection is on the back cover plate. Please see the pictures which form part of the condition description. This great guitar was supplied by Fender Australia and has not been modified from original or changed in any way apart from the plastic tip on the whammy bar. Needless to say everything on it works and sounds just as it should. I am selling it because arthritis has ensured that bar chords and quick picking are a thing of the past!Please note that I prefer payment by direct bank deposit but I understand that the buyer might want the assurance that buying through PayPal might give.
