I re-listed this with new information.Vintage National Triolian, late era 1938-41, new National cone. This guitar I have been told is unique: the headstock has serial number 1209 W and the W indicates "walnut" or "wood" paint, yet the body is plated which was uncommon for the steel bodies which were painted at this time since the steel didn't hold the plating well (it is steel, I put a guitar pickup near it and it stuck). Not sure if that makes it worth more or less than any other National from the era.  The plating is well done if not original, looks like a mirror all over. The guitar was not originally built with a Pickup and somebody (not me!) along the way added a Pickup.  The wiring was non-functional so I had the entire harness, pots, jack, and pickup replaced.  Pickup is a Kent Armstrong mini-humbucker which works very well. Knobs are non-period chrome domes. I don't remember the pot values.Guitar is in good condition but has a few small rust pits. Tuners are original and work they are 4:1 and say "planetary" on the sides. Cover plate has some denting. One small dent near the bottom back seen in photos. Likely had a pick guard as there are some holes which look like mounting holes for the pickguard and some of the later triolians came with a pickguard. Please review pictures before bidding. Its mirror shiny making it difficult for me to get good photos without taking my own picture.Guitar itself has a very nice tone. Cone and biscuit are new and come from National. I bought this for slide playing and it works great for bottle neck style slide though it is a tenor. Currently action is medium-high, which works well for slide and I can still fret it. I have it in CGcg but it can be tuned CGda with the same strings. I recommend some fresh nickel wound strings, I'm selling and didn't have a tenor set on hand (most of my loose strings are for mandolin).Includes a beat up alligator skin style case, I will ship as safely as possible. I'm selling this because I don't play guitar very much any more.If your looking for a unique electrified vintage National tenor resonator then you found your axe!Sold as is, sorry no returns, item is described to the best of my ability.
