Piccolo OboeA rare item indeed. 517 mm long. This instrument has been re-padded and completely serviced. It has come up very well. The repairer was amazed at how good a condition it is in. It has 1 small indentation near the top, as shown in one of the photo's. Otherwise it is in perfect condition. No real wear evident in the keys.I am aware of some of it's history, and know that it has not been used for the last 30 years, having been stored away and forgotten about in a shelf with various other unused instruments and parts. I am reasonably confident that it may well have been sitting on that shelf since it was brought into the country. I am not sure however when it may have arrived in Australia, but the people who brought it in only brings in new instruments. The repair person also found an instrument that he feels quite certain is the same, advertised in the UK. This instrument is listed as a "Cocuswood Boem system oboe with maillechort keywork, signed "(lyre) / JOSEPH BUYST / BRUXELLES / JB(monogram)" made c.1920."
