1998 Les Paul Classic Goldtop. Relisted as I couldn't bring myself to sell it last time!
A classic is basically a Les Paul Standard with a slim neck. Don't confuse it with all the tributes and other models that Gibson now produce.The classic is a 1960 reissue and comes with a slim 60's neck, ABR bridge, kluson tuners, nitro finish. This 1998 classic comes from a period when Gibson were making great guitars. These models are particularly well regarded and are on a par to a std from the same era.This guitar is a beast both in tone and weight (12lbs/5.45kg). It's heavier than my lp custom!I imported this guitar from the states in 2011. It originally came with hot ceramic gibson pickups which I replaced with Seymour Duncan Alnico II pickups for a more classic LP sound. I also have the nickel covers for these pickups If you prefer the covered look.The guitar also has a coil tap fitted on the bridge tone knob for more options tonally.The guitar is in excellent condition for its age. It is however 18 years old so there are a few marks here and there as you'd expect. Frets have plenty of life left in them.The guitar comes with the original brown Gibson case which is now a bit battered (and has the original owners name sprayed on it, see pics), but it still does the job and protects the guitar well. No paperwork unfortunately.Next day postage via UPS. Mainland UK only or collection from Barnsley.Advertised elsewhere so listing may end if sold elsewhere.Any questions feel free to ask.
