Clearly it has been lovingly cared for by previous owners, as befits an instrument of such high quality. The superb material, gorgeous varnish which gives an enchanting depth to the flamed back, and obvious high quality of workmanship is evidence that this violin was crafted by one of the finest makers to grace the JTL workshop. The flat arching developed by Stradivari to produce greater projection is employed to great effect in this violin which also has a beautifully matured brilliance and a concise responsiveness. The tone is everything you would expect from the best of French violins. The long graceful corners and mitring that flows into the angle of the corners are reminiscent of those seen in well preserved golden period instruments of Stradivari’s such as 'the Messiah', which may have been the inspiration for this violin which also shares a similar shade of varnish.This excellent instrument has been professionally restored and set up to give you the best playing experience from the day it arrives with you.
