Up for sale, a 1999 Martin 00-16DBR left handed acoustic guitar in excellent condition. A limited edition which was part of the "Women and Music" series, this "R" suffix 00-16 features solid rosewood back and sides, with a Sitka spruce top. The tone is very detailed and smooth, with the string to string clarity that is distinctly Martin. This guitar is very generous for chording and fingerpicking, with a powerful voice and sweet harmonics. Professionally setup and dialed in with 12-53 phosphor bronze strings, this is a rare chance to own a left handed version of the limited edition 00-16DBR.The mahogany neck has a soft V profile with slender vintage-style fretwire and a generous slab ebony fretboard. The stock frets retain their full, original height, with only a touch of wear on the crowns of frets 1-3 and virtually no wear up the neck. The action is low and consistent in all registers with no untoward buzzing or dead spots and the carved bone nut measures 1 11/16" in width. On the slotted headstock, open gear Waverly tuners turn extremely smoothly and hold pitch very well. The headstock has a clean rosewood veneer and gold Martin script logo as well. The body has clean model and "Women and Music" labels visible through the soundhole, as well as the requisite serial number and model info on the heel block. The ebony bridge sits flush with the top, and the saddle has plenty of height for future adjustment if desired. This model features a unique rosette and body binding too. In terms of cosmetic wear, there are some pick marks on the treble side of the upper bout in the pick path, as well as a few small finish dimples and light scratches in the clear coat, but nothing out of the ordinary for a guitar that's been played lightly for almost two decades. The center seam on the solid spruce top has also been reglued.
The original hardshell case is included.
