1967 Sunburst Fender Telecaster Serial # 206213 on F-plate Neck date September 1967 Pots (Stackpole) dated week 18, 1966 This is a late 1967 Telecaster from the tail end of the “transition” era. So one of the last with originally nitrocellulose finish, 250k pots and “vintage circuit”, and one of the first with F-stamp tuners and CBS “modern” logo. At some point in the past it had been stripped, rather untidily, to natural finish. The visible remnants of old paint revealed an original sunburst finish, so I have had the body professionally restored to sunburst (nitro refinish, as original) with a suitably age-appropriate level of relicing. Other than the body refinish, and possibly the odd screw here and there, all content is original. And the only modification is a rewire of the 3-way switch from “vintage circuit” to the more conventional and useful neck/both/bridge configuration (the old “mud capacitor” is still present in the case). The neck pickup was recently repaired by Armstrong Pickups, but retaining the original windings so sound is unaffected. There are no other “issues” at all so far as I can tell. The original frets have zero noticeable wear since last levelled & dressed. And the back of the neck has worn very smoothly and evenly for a great playing feel. This is a nicely light and resonant Tele, weighing a mere 6.75lb. And soundwise it is well up to scratch – warm & bluesy on the neck PU and plenty of “Jimmy Page vibe” in the bridge position. So altogether, if you like Teles there’s very little not to like about this one! This comes with a good non-Fender hard case, and nicely set-up with 9-42’s all ready to rock.   As usual, sorry if the shipping prices seem a little high. But there’s no way I’d send this without insurance to the full value, and then with VAT added on top it’s the best I can do.
