This guitar is a beauty. Apart of a true collector's piece. Wether you're a fan or a collector. Or both ! For those who don't know about "Wildwood 10" series, in a few words, Wildwood has becomed of the biggest guitar shops into the USA ; they created along with Fender's Custom Shop their own line of high-end Custom Shop guitars. Here's what they say about these great guitars : Check out our famous Wildwood “10s” - exclusively from Wildwood Guitars :Straight from the Fender Custom Shop and Wildwood Guitars come some of the finest Strats and Teles we’ve ever had the pleasure of offering: the Fender Dealer Select Wildwood "10s." These instruments feature "faded" thin nitrocellulose finishes, hand-selected tone woods, Custom Shop pickups, and unique appointments like a 10" fingerboard radius and 6105 frets. The guitars ship with a Certificate of Authenticity and a Custom Shop Limited Edition black hardshell case. The guitars combine modern features with vintage vibe and tone, and they're available exclusively at Wildwood Guitars.
Wildwood 10 Neck Shapes and Sizes:Necks are all hand sanded and vary a bit in size, these measurements are taken from individual guitars and represent an approximation of size and shape, please inquire for a hands-on description of specific guitars Taper refers to the graduation of thickness from the nut to the 12th fret.
This concrete guitar is based on a '57 model :The Wildwood "10" '57 Stratocaster is certainly one of the most popular Wildwood "10s," and for good reason! These phenomenal instruments are the fruits of our fantastic relationship with the Fender Custom Shop, and frankly, we couldn't be happier. This iconic classic marries an extremely resonant, premium light weight alder body and quarter sawn maple neck in a variety of profiles, so you can find that perfect fit. Coupled with our flatter Wildwood "10" Custom Radius, Dunlop 6105 frets and Custom Shop pickups, these Wildwood "10" '57 Strats have cemented their place in both the legacy of the Fender Custom Shop and the history of Wildwood Guitars. This guitar has the famous '57 soft V neck shape : .850" at the 1st fret - .990" at the 12th fret, A soft V neck shape that is similar to the '56 V Boat Neck although the '57 V Neck is more tapered (Slimmer at the 1st Fret and Fatter at the 12th Fret). The V shape becomes more rounded as it goes up the neck toward the body and has a C shape feel with a bit larger shoulder than the '56 V.  Man... what an eye catcher !  You sure have understood that this guitar in on TOP ! Now then, it received exclusive appointments, specially ordered by its first & previous owner to Wilwood Guitars, so that the guitar is a sort of "one off" Custom Shop Dave Murray Strat, making it even more exclusive ! You will find all the details in the specs sheets pictured. Please note that previous owner switched its DiMarzio Tone Zone neck PU for a vintage early 80's special hand-wounded '59 Seymour Duncan humbucker (taped labeled 59N-D). The original DiMarzio PU does come with the guitar. He also swapped the original 5-way switch for an accurate 3-way one. The original 5-way also comes with the guitar. This is what previous owner said about this guitar :"For sale is a custom order (by me) 2012 Fender Custom Shop Wildwood 10 1957 Relic Black Stratocaster with the Humbucker - Single Coil - Humbucker configuration in Lighweight 1-Piece Alder/Flatsawn Maple, weighing a perfect 7 1/2 pounds. This guitar is a lot like a Fender Custom Shop version of the HSH Stratocaster that Iron Maiden's Dave Murray played back in Iron Maiden's Number of the Beast days. This is a phenomenal guitar, specs below:1-Piece Lightweight Alder Body
Nitrocellulose Thin Skin Lacquer Aged Relic Finish
57 Style Soft "V" Neck 0.850 - 0.990
10" Radius
21 Frets
Bone Nut
Bridge Pickup: Dimarzio Super Distortion, Aged by Fender
Middle Pickup:  John Cruz Handwound Limited Stratocaster Single Coil
Neck Pickup:  Vintage Seymour Duncan wound 59N-D Neck Pickup circa late 1970s/early 1980s
New Old Stock Vintage 1960s CRL 3 way Switch (original 5 way in case)
7 lbs 8 ounces (7.5 pounds)Mods: I had a professional luthier install a circa 1980 59 Neck Pickup (Labeled with tape 59N-D) wound by Seymour Duncan, as well as a vintage new old stock 3 way switch. The original Dimarzio Tone Zone and the original 5 way switch, are in the case. The early PAF copies wound by Seymour Duncan himself were called 59s, and are different and more vintage correct than modern versions of the '59 pickup - these early versions are the original boutique PAF, and sport truly PAF-spec such as enamel wire and rough cast magnets. The neck position of this guitar sounds like a great old Les Paul. This guitar seriously kills, and far exceeded my expectations. I've owned vintage Fender, including a 1955 Strat, and the custom shop does a great job with these aged finishes. This guitar is a great platform for any humbuckers you would want to try - it is a very musical resonant strat with tons of sustain, not plinky and not muddy at all."
