Antique c.1830 American C. PELOUBET NEW YORK / NJ One Key wooden flute with case
Estimated price for orientation: 899 $
Category: Flutes
Class:
Description Body Material: Wood Country/Region of Manufacture: United States Skill Level: Professional
This is an antique c.1830 wooden flute with original case from a local estate. It is signed "C. PELOUBET NEW-YORK" on all joints, as well as "FACTORY AT BLOOMFIELD N.J." on the foot (see images / no serial number). The original faux tortoise paper covered box is labeled "D. No. 22" along with a word that we can not quite read (see close-up image). We believe that this indicates that the instrument is key of D, serial #22. It measures 23 3/4" long overall. It is in 100% original unrestored condition, with no cracks or damage. It assembles snugly with no looseness. The only thing we see to mention is the key is sticky and will need to be loosened / oiled before use, and very minor wear to box at edges (see images). This is an extremely nice American flute in near Showroom original condition after nearly 200 years of careful use / storage. It displays beautifully! Being sold as-pictured for collection, restoration, or display. International shipping is thru EBay's Global Shipping Center, with any custom fees due at time of purchase. Please ask any questions before bidding.
