Very rare and nice Parisi Piccolo Flugelhorn - Pitch EbBell engraving - Premiato stabiliS.PARISITorinoEsportazione mondiale Horn-u-copia.net has this entry on this instrument -2630 Eb Engraved: Premiato stabili | S.PARISI | Torino | Esportazione mondiale Parisi was in Torino in the late 19th Century
The New Langwill Index has an entry [for a flute] -Parisi, G, WW1 fl Torino ?late 19c .... MARK: G. Parisi / Torino (in oval cartouche)I suspect [but that may be too strong a word] that the initial G may refer to a father, and the initial S [as on this instrument] may refer to a son. I can't say. It might be the other way round.Either way, this is an early [i.e. late 19th or early 20th century] instrument.A Wick flugel mouthpiece [not part of this auction] is shown in the mouthpiece receiver. I have played it with a Martin flugel mouthpiece as well. It plays well - typical flugel tone but higher.Bottom sprung valves are good - no obvious wear, but not pristine either. There is a mismatch in the valve tops: the older style metal top one is wrongThere are parts where there are scratches and bumps, but overall this is in good condition. This will be shipped in the Targus case shown Highly collectible
