A fine Baroque Violoncello currently being made by Nate Tabor in Vienna, Austria. Shipping is by UPS fully insured, with tracking, 3-5 working days after payment is received. Pickup also available in Vienna or Salzburg, Austria. I offer the following comments below from the maker: " For this unique 4 string baroque cello I have taken various sources of inspiration. The scroll head shall be after one by Anton Posch. My target period is late baroque, so this instrument will have a bit more string length and thus tension than some of my previous baroque cellos. The archings are after templates made by myself however inspired by Viennese instruments of the late baroque. This is a piccolo size violoncello with a corpus length of 72.3cm. I intend this to be a true obligato violoncello, and we have a warm, antique-sounding tone with the willow back. but with still much carrying power and projection. You may note the upper bouts are quite wide with this aim in mind. The back is of willow with lovely figuring, aged 10 years with an additional 1 year in the workshop. Ribs of maple,. The scroll is of Italian poplar and thus very light in weight.
