This Yamaha WX5 and Yamaha VL70-m with Patchman TURBO VL Upgrade chip were purchased new in 2004 as a backup system. Both items were tested briefly, cleaned, and have been in their original shipping boxes since then, in a non-smoking home studio, on a shelf. (My "main" WX5 and VL70-m never broke, and are still working fine... I don't play as much anymore, so don't really need a backup.)Both units were just taken out again, turned on, and are working perfectly. They're about as clean as you're going to find, both literally have less than 4 hours of use. The WX5 plugs into the VL70-m with the included cable which is where it gets it's power from, it has no power cord on it's own. The VL70-m has it's original power cord.The VL70-m was purchased with the Patchman TURBO VL Upgrade chip installed. Be sure to check out the Patchman TURBO site for more info and sound samples. It's a "must have" for the VL70-m, it's an amazing unit with the Patchman TURBO VL Upgrade chip in it.The WX5 is in great shape as well. There is a tiny discoloration spot on the top of the pressure reed mouthpiece (where your teeth would go). It's not grooved or worn, just slightly discolored... again, the unit was tested, but not for more than four hours total.All of the original manuals are still in plastic and will be shipped in the VL70-m box.
