Antique German fiddle / violin labeled "Copy of Antonius Stradiurius Made in Germany" with L.R. Baggs pickup. Circa 1890-1910

Nice MELLOW, SWEET tone that's not loud under your ear, nasal, or harsh at all. It has some nice overtones and sweetness on the E string, as well. Great low action string height. Set up with new D'Addario Zyex heavy tension strings. Nice patina and INCREDIBLY EASY TO PLAY!  Double stops are a breeze on this thing.  Has been gigged regularly and has a really smooth, fast neck and low action.  It's very balanced tonally and the notes are easy to find.

At some point in time, it had mechanical tuners that have since been replaced with standard tuning pegs. The screw holes still remain in the pegbox. I don't see any cracks or open seams anywhere on this fiddle. There are scratches and scuffs here and there and it appears to be an instrument that was played regularly for 100 years.  Mechanically and structurally, this fiddle is very solid and the sound is something you would expect from a well made German instrument.   Comes with a hard shell case.  I will pack it well and ship it quickly.
