This is a piece of rock music history. In 1988 Queensryche put out probably thier most iconic album 'Operation Mindcrime', which was the first one Scott Rockenfield did as a Tama endorsee. This snare drum was used on their follow up world tour toghether with Metallica (good ol' times!). This is an AW318 Tama 14x8" heavy birch snare drum, made out of 14plies (18mm thick) of japanese birch. Fitted with the cam lever strainer and die cast hoops, finished in piano black lacquer inside and outside. The snare itself is amazing, providing tremendous attack and outstanding power but still being sensitive and very musical. I bought the snare from Donn Bennet back in 2011, when they were selling a bunch of Scott's old gear. They recorded some videos explaining the whole thing, I'll put the links below so that you can confirm the story. Also I got a COA from Donn Bennett when I bought the drum. Both the shell and the batter head are signed by Scott Rockenfield. This is a once in a lifetine oportunity to own both a great, collectable Tama snare from the golden era and a piece of Queensryche's best music period, if you are a fan of them like I am, this will be a dream for you! Conditionwise it's in players condition, I'd say 7'5/10. It's got a bit of pitting on the chrome and a few tiny nicks here and there, nothing major. Bearing edges are great.
