So that the problem can be resolved. thenextitemwehaveontheblockis!!!!!!!! Trader-BOB's MUSIC on facebook offers a restored S.S. Stewart "Champion" tenor banjo model 231? The SS Stewart name was owned by a few firms, Buegeleison & Jacobson was one. B&J had hteir products made mainly by Slingerland. Somewhere along the line Puntolillio entered into the picture, but I believe this one to be made by Slingerland. This model 231 shows up in a 1924 B&J cataloge. Beautiful banjo. Birdseye maple three piece neck, looks like ebony is the middle black strip. Inlaid S.S. Stewart on the headstock. 10-3/4" new goatskin, (thin) head. Maple pot, nickel plated brass tone ring, making this an archtop. The hooks and nuts are new, chrome plated, same style, and design as the originals. The screws that secure the nickel plated brass shoes to the rim are stainless steel. The tailpiece is a "Presto" by Grover. The 17 fret "Irish Tenor" neck, is straight to my eye, and the string action height is .090", at the 12th fret. This has been refinished with Qualosole, a nice finishe, harder surface than shellac. The tuners are not original, but are identical to the first ones. New Martin light strings. Very nice, fairly rare, hard to find much info online. 30-1/2" overall length. Resonates and plays very well. I tune it like a 5 string, but other tuning are also available GDAE, as the Irish tune them, GCEA, CDGE, DGBE. *************** THE SHIPPING CHARGES ARE CALCULATED BY EBAY, NOT ME **************** CHECK OUT THE SHIPPING OF THIS ITEM TO YOU, VIA EBAY'S SHIPPING CALCULATOR.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, IF YOU THINK THE CHARGES ARE TOO HIGH, ***** DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM ! ! ! ******* RECEIVER SIGNATURE REQUIRED ON ALL SHIPMENTS OVER $100.00, ********** IF YOU HAVE AN EXCEPTION TO THAT,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM INDIANA RESIDENTS ADD 7% SALES TAX.
