Description Brand: Kay Exact Year: approximately 1956 Model: K 192-B Country/Region of Manufacture: United States Body Type: Hollow
This big blonde Jumbo 17" wide spruce archtop with curly maple back and sides is pictured in a 1956 Kay catalog as the K 192-B (for blonde, naturally). The top of the line guitar listed for $200 then. Two "hi-fi" magnetic pickups with separate bakelite volume and tone controls and 3-way selector switch. There's a few nicks and scratches over the years, a little buckle rash, but otherwise all completely and awesomely there. Except it is missing it's original pickguard and there is a completely glued and stable surgery scar from what looks like a neck reset it received over its long and venerable cowboy/rockabilly/jazz lounge life. Look at the pictures. This is a great old beautiful guitar. And it sounds and plays just as nice as she looks. You're sure to be the only one on your block who has one. With a perfectly fitting hard shell case.
