1962 SML Standard tenor saxophone.
Horn has been re-lacquered at some point.
Extremely well done relaq as can be seen from the pics.
Engraving is very clear and sharp.
Another strap loop has been brazed on the horn so that it hangs better.
Horn was completely disassembled and rebuilt with pro-leather pads and solid brass resos by Craig Bender of Eugene OR.
It needs nothing, plays fantastic and is set for years of playing.
The SML standard horns are straight tone hole horns manufactured with-out some of the add-ons.
This horn does not have: the clothes guard, the adjustment screws on the top and bottom stacks, the adjustable felts or the swivel thumb rest.
It does have the 4-slot neck receiver.
It has the great SML sound and intonation, and unlike the other rolled tone hole SML tenors I have played (3 rev. D's, Gold Medal mk I, and a King Marigaux(straight tone hole)) this horn has great altissimo response. Do an internet search, I am not the only person to notice this about the Standard tenors.
Ships with a non-original plastic end plug in the Gator hard shell case pictured.
The chrome stand is NOT included.
Contact me if you need more pictures.
I will refund that part of the shipping cost if it ends up under the $55.
