This is my go-to electric guitar.
I LOVE the sound that comes out of this guitar.Fender American '52 hot rod reissue body. (top of the line fender guitar!)
- swamp ash body
- Special wound Telecaster bridge pickup.
- Seymour Duncan mini-humbucker pickup in the neck position
modifications -
- new Wilkinson brass compensated saddles. ( the original brass saddles were not compensated and made it hard to intonate the guitar properly)
- reversed the switch plate so that the volume knob was closer to my hand for volume swells.
Wormoth modern C shape Telecaster neck with ebony finger board and MOP dots.
- compound radius
- stainless steel jumbo frets.
- Gotoh locking tuners**comes with a (non fender) tweed hard case (one of the locks is broken).I bought this guitar on eBay ...all original parts and i found that I really, really didn't like the U shape maple neck. It was too big for my hand to play with my thumb over the top. This being my "player" guitar, I didn't care if it was no longer all stock, so I got the coolest Warmoth moder C-shape neck could for it. It wasn't cheap ! ;)Plays perfectly! Frets are like new. intonation is great. Stays in tune. Electronics work perfectly. The tones that come out of this thing are beautiful.
The vintage (custom wound) bridge pickup is sweet and bass-ass sounding, depending on what you want.
The Seymour Duncan mini-humbucker in the neck is a great pairing with the Tele pickup because it is a great fat sound to for when you want that. It's bright and meaty sounding ...it has a sweetness to it.
The middle position (both pickups out of phase) is really special .. i can't describe it but they blend beautifully.. can be very pretty and can really rock..depending on what you want.
