2000 Tacoma Thunderchief CB10E3 Natural Satin Finish Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Bass GuitarUsed - Good ConditionThere is a little bit of seam separation on the soundboard from the bridge to the bottom edge. Here's the Made in U.S.A. acoustic-electric bass you've been waiting to get your hands on! The Tacoma CB10E3's tone is balanced, and in the lower registers stays clean. Tacoma's "VS" bracing was a radical advance over traditional acoustic guitar bracing. They didn't "adjust" a design from the 1930's, they applied 60 years of learning to it. Tacoma guitar's braces are triangular in shape because they have equal strength to a rounded brace with less mass. The "Tone Shaped" bridge they use is wide and flat on the bass side, and narrow and peaked on the treble side. A luthier's rule of thumb is that low, wide braces are best for bass frequencies, and tall, thin braces are best for treble frequencies. They applied this thinking to their bridge and it works. The solid Maple bridge plate is asymmetrical, and placed diagonally to enhance the dispersion patterns of the bridge design. The matched bridge and bridge plate configuration balances the bass and treble remarkably, and produces sustain unmatched by any other system. There are no sharp corners on the front edge of the bridge to concentrate stress on the top--less stress = longer life. The Tacoma E3 preamp system made by L.R. Baggs utilizes a ribbon transducer element with unlimited dynamic range that leads the flex in the top. The preamp is a pure class-A discrete FET. The quasi-passive EQ section is a synthesized cap and coil circuit parallel with the original signal. The units are custom voiced for Tacoma Guitars' line, and are also tuned specifically for use in either guitars or basses. The preamp features volume, bass, midrange, treble, and phase controls. This bass isn't called the Thunderchief for nothing!
