is a 1957 Elkhart Conn 36B trumpet (serial number 709235). This horn was built in Conn's famous Elkhart factory, and is what is known as a "pre-letter series" Elkhart horn, since there is no letter preceding the serial number. The horns made during this period are widely recognized as being the best horns from Conn's entire history. The bore of the horn is .438" (Conn #1 bore). The bell is 4 5/8". The engraving is crisp and clean, and reads "C. G. Conn Ltd./ Connstellation/ Elkhart--U.S.A." This horn looks good and plays very well. The Conn "clickless" valves feel very mechanically sound, with excellent compression and with no wiggle from side to side. As for the aesthetic condition of the horn, there are a few scratches and a few small dings, and there is a bit of pitting in the nickel plate throughout the horn, allowing you to see a bit of the brass of the bell and the copper of the leadpipe. This is visible in the pictures, and none of it affects the playability of the horn.  This instrument has been professionally cleaned in our shop and repaired to full playability. This horn is not lacquered; therefore fingerprints should be wiped off after use if the player wishes for the horn to stay as shiny as it is now--if they are not wiped off then the horn will develop a lovely patina. This trumpet comes with a somewhat worn case and a mouthpiece in good condition.
