The amp at left has the second generation cabinet and was manufactured in 1960. Designed by Dick Denney, the tone of the AC-15 became the sonic blueprint for all JMI Vox tube amps to follow. The heart of Vox tone comes from the power amp section, and three key design concepts were combined in the AC-15 power amp design to create the characteristic Vox sound.Product DetailsChannel 1 Controls: Two inputs, one volume, one tone.Channel 2 Controls: Two inputs, one volume, one tone, one Vibravox control.Watts: 15Speaker: 12" Celestion / Vox Alnico Speaker Valves: ECC83 (x3), EF86 (x1), ECC82 (x1), EL-84 (x2), EZ-81 (x1) Footswitch: Yes. Original 'Egg' Pedal. Service History We pride ourselves on the inspection, authentication, and service of each amplifier to UK standards and regulations. Please note that it is the philosophy of The Music Locker to keep all amplifiers as original as possible, only changing original components when absolutely necessary. This includes valves, capacitors, transformers, potentiometers, etc. This gives the buyer the option of tailoring to their exact needs, and may mean that the amplifier is not operating at optimum performance levels. Therefore, your personal preference may differ, depending on your circumstances (i.e. collector or musician), and you may decide to service the amplifier in more depth upon receiving. The Music Locker cannot accept responsibility for any costs of refurbishment to a standard different to the one advertised. Cosmetic Inspection This is an absolute beauty! However, please bear in mind this is 57 years old & has the stories to go with it. Apart from the expected bumps & tears, it appears that there are cigarette burns to the top of the cabinet where a previous owner would lean his cig on while playing; rock n roll! Also the bottom right corner has had some restoration / concealing done to it. This is all pictured! Please have a close look at the high resolution photographs below, as these form part of our description. OriginalityThis amp has just had a major overhaul with a lot of the original circuitry being replaced, the replacement components used were all top vintage parts including nos mullard caps. This amp now sounds truly incredible! Please note that the original components are actually included in the sale, meaning full originality can be restored if so desired. We also believe the top back panel & under panel of the amp have been replaced at one point in its life. One of the transformers looks to be a replacement though it bares a vintage top covering alluding to the fact it might be a period replacement. Summary Overall, this is a very rare and collectible amplifier. Not only is this sure to increase in value year on year, but also it can be an enjoyed investment. You're more than welcome to come along and have a play on this, coupled with one of our vintage guitars! Where else but at The Music Locker! If you click and buy through eBay, please pay (or make contact) with us within 24 hours, in order to let us know your payment plan. We're happy to accommodate in whatever way we can, as long as we know. We pride ourselves on our affordable, high quality and safe worldwide shipping. Please see the exact quote for your country. This price includes boxed and secure packaging, insurance for the sale price and full tracking via UPS. Personal inland delivery is also a possibility so please contact us for more information. A deal can be done on any item collected as we strive to keep the risk of breakages as low as possible for such delicate beauties.Due to the age and nature of vintage second hand equipment, The Music Locker cannot offer any warranties on the products it supplies, other than the statutory 14 day cooling off period as detailed in the section Return Policy details below. Please Note - If you're not located within Europe, you may be eligible to pay import duty or tax, of which The Music Locker cannot be held responsible. Please also be aware that each amplifier is serviced to UK regulations and our customers overseas may need to make slight alterations to meet electric requirements, of which The Music Locker cannot accept responsibility for. Please make sure you are aware of this before buying.
