For sale is a C12 style tube microphone built by JJ Audio, the capsule is the world famous Tim Campbell CT12 (known as the best C12 capsule in the world).  The microphone was originally a mid level Chinese tube microphone, the only thing that remains from that original microphone is the metal body work, which has been repainted.  Look at some of the internal pictures and you will see the circuit has been completely rebuilt, Jim even installed original Mullard mustard capacitors, and a 1uF Mundorf Capacitor, not cheap.  Me and Jim tried out many different tube types and makes, including some early 60's Telefunken's, to my ears and to his - our favorite was this late 60's Mullard 12at7 that you see installed.  Also the power supply has been completely rebuilt to perfectly match the new circuit of the microphone.  If you bought a C12 from Telefunken it would cost you $8,500.00, the C12 VR from AKG is $6,000. If you were to start from scratch and build a C12 clone from BeesNeez microphones it would cost you $800 for the body and their CK12 capsule (a very very nice capsule but still not a Tim Campbell CT12), $400 for the power supply, $200 for the case, and $120 for the shockmount.  At that point you would be at $1520 and you still haven't bought the circuit board, the components, or the all important tube, and you still have to build the mic (or pay someone) and paint the body. My point being you will simply not find a microphone of this quality for this price anywhere.  I loved this microphone and probably used it on over 100 recordings over the last 5 years, mostly on vocals but I also loved it as a drum room mic about 20 feet in front of the kick drum at ground level.  The reason I am selling is because I have introduced 2 kids into my life in the last 3 years and I just don't have the time that I used too, I will be scaling my studio way down and listing many more items on ebay in the coming days and weeks.
